Gemma Brunton, OBA President introduces the OB Mentoring Scheme

Mentoring

Dear Old Brutonians,

We’ve been working away behind the scenes on a mentoring scheme, launching soon. It will be a wonderful way to connect Old Brutonians and share our vast wealth of knowledge and experience with each other. Like all these things, it’s success depends on you getting involved, so a plea to you all, if you are willing to give a little of your time to help further the career of a younger OB (remember, you were them once!) please sign up on the website and give your details and we will match you with a suitable candidate. This is precisely what the Old Brutonian Association is all about - supporting each other - and I’m very grateful to Emilie for all her hard work and expertise getting this up and running.

Also later this year we are hoping to launch a Business Directory where business owners can advertise their companies through the network - more on this in due course but this is another exciting development in the King’s Community website.

We have secured Ironmonger’s Hall for this year’s London Lunch on Friday 1st December, details about that to follow but be sure to get your tickets early as last year we sold out. We will be welcoming OBs celebrating their 20th & 30th anniversaries of leaving the school, so if you left in 1993 or 2003 we would especially love to see you at the lunch.

Look out for the Old Brutonian Magazine dropping on your doormats or inboxes soon - our esteemed editor Ed Tickner is stepping down from his role after this issue and we are actively seeking someone to replace him. We would love an OB to take on the role, if you have any editing/publishing experience, please do get in touch with Emilie and have a chat about what’s involved.

And a final reminder that if you haven’t specifically requested a postal copy of the magazine, you will only get a digital copy. As ever we are mindful of our impact on the environment and every year we get many undelivered copies. Please let Emilie know if you have moved or would like to switch to a digital version of the magazine.

Finally as we look forward to Easter and the longer, warmer days, I hope this finds you all well, and I look forward to seeing as many of you as possible this year.

Floreat Brutonia!
