On June 17^th, The Sir Peter Squire Pavilion was formally opened by Lady Squire.  Donors and invited guests gathered on the newly refurbished Pavilion's terrace to watch as Lady Squire cut the ribbon, after which a light lunch was served.  The Pavilion brings a new lease of life to Hyde offering splendid views over the playing pitches and the broader Bruton vista.  The Sir Peter Squire Pavilion will be used for sports events, but also will allow social events to benefit from one of the best views in Bruton.  The restoration was sympathetically carried out; the building maintains its original charm, but now boasts a wonderful internal and external space, as well as kitchen facilities, umpire changing rooms and a purpose built set of changing rooms.  

As well as the opening of The Sir Peter Squire Pavilion, the 17^th June saw Old Brutonians invited back to participate in Hockey and Cricket matches, playing against King's pupils, many of whom are about to leave King's and become Old Brutonians themselves. There was also a parent vs. child tennis tournament and a BBQ for current parents and Old Brutonians outside Lyon.  The day was a huge success, showcasing the sporting talent of pupils past and present, enabling our soon-to-leave pupils and recent OBs to get to know each other.  We hope to run a similar event in 2024.
