One of the best parts of my job is touring Old Brutonians around King's. David Griffiths (L54/60) and his wife Linda were on a 6 week tour of Europe and the UK (they live in Sydney, Australia), with their stop at Bruton being one of their last places to visit before they made the trip back home. Malcolm Jeffrey (Housemaster Lyon) was keen to meet David, the first boy to enter the then newly built Lyon House, touring David and Linda around the house, which by all accounts is completely unrecognisable from David's time.
David commented that the range of activities and opportunities available to King's pupils has changed hugely since his time here, but some key aspects, such as the Memorial Hall, had remained the same.
In the past year we have arranged tours for OBs from across the eras, with some being lucky enough to have Andrew Leach (school Archivist) as tourguide! No matter which year the OBs have left, all have been able to find something they remember from their time here.
If you would like a tour of King's (or Hazlegrove), please do get in touch. We ask that all OBs and OHs arrange their tour beforehand and report to reception on arrival.
