King's Bruton News |
I would like to take this opportunity to thank the Old Brutonian community for 16 years of friendship, support and good cheer. There has not been a day since 2009 when I haven't been thinking about this amazing school, and it has been my honour and privilege to serve as King’s Bruton’s 33rd Headmaster. I am extremely grateful to you for all the invitations to the London Lunch, for your support for 500th and the 500th Ball and our fundraising, and to the many Old Brutonians who have sent their sons and daughters to be educated at the school.
The list of thanks continues as my great personal thanks must go to the Old Brutonians (and one Honorary OB) who have come to King’s to be our guests at Prizegiving - Andre, Luke, Sinead, Gareth (Hon OB), Tim, Mark, Fraser, Charles and Femi. I am delighted that my first Head of School back in 2009, James Catley-Day, will be presenting the prizes to the pupils in my final Prizegiving – perfect symmetry. I know that my two daughters are very proud Old Brutonians and they have friends from school who will last their lifetime. Finally, I was very touched to be made an Honorary Old Brutonian.
King’s is a school with a soul, and I don’t write that lightly. The school is a wonderful community of staff, teenagers, parents and alumni with a palpable sense of identity. I hope that I have played my small part, over the last 16 years, in building, protecting and burnishing the intangible qualities that makes King’s Bruton so special. I wish you all the very best for the future.
